Fun outside with Avery!!

We have the best neighbors in the whole world! 

We are lucky to live next to some of our very best friends! 

The best part of living next to the Hills is that we get to see each other's kids all of the time. 

Grady and Avery are two of my favorite little people in the whole world. 

I have known both of them since the day they were born and I could not love them anymore if they were my own. I LOVE getting to see them grow up on a daily basis! They also can keep me entertained, they are a hoot!!! Avery is quite the little personality. She and Maverick were playing on the swings the other day and I snapped some pictures! Enjoy!

Maverick has 2 teeth!!!

I hope that by the title of this post you don't scroll down looking for a picture of the little buggers!

You see, Maverick REFUSES to let anyone see his teeth.

I discovered the two front bottom teeth last week. He has been waking up a few more times than normal at night and pulling at his mouth. Poor little guy! Luckily, we are armed and ready with infant Advil and baby orajel!!

I have been trying all week to get a picture of them.

Weekend re-cap!

We had a great weekend!! The weather was beautiful!

Saturday afternoon Aunt Sarah rode her bike over!

On Sunday Maverick and I went to my niece Casey's softball tournament.

She is an amazing player and an awesome pitcher!

I was so excited that she played so close to home!

Maverick watched Casey pitch. He sat still and watched her for an entire inning!

Mammy and I couldn't believe it! He must be proud of her :)

When we got home we decided to play outside for a little bit.

I put Maverick in the grass and he wasn't so sure about it.

I did get this cheesy, old man face!!!

Happy 97th Birthday Aunt Osie!!

This weekend we went to Maverick's great-great-great-aunt's birthday party!!

Aunt Osie turned 97!!!

We had a great time and got to spend some time with the Wolf family!

I made birthday cake fudge....OMG..It was sooo good!!! And pretty easy!

I'm too sexy for my trunks!!!

I just ordered Maverick a reusable swim diaper. It is a Swimmi by Bummis. I figure this will be much more economical then buying a trillion disposable swim diapers. With a pool next door we plan to swim a lot this summer!! I had to get a few pics because he looked so darn cute in his Swimmi!! Enjoy!!

What a fun weekend at home!

This weekend was pretty low-key and it was really nice. We enjoyed some time outside in our neighbors pool, a cookout, and a lazy Sunday in the baby pool!

Santa brought Maverick this Fisher Price speedway for Christmas. This was the first weekend he really played with it and was not afraid of the noise!

He wasn't so sure about the big pool. It was 95 degrees outside and the water was really cold. He wasn't a big fan of the colder water and it was close to time to eat and take a nap. He lasted about 30 minutes and then he had a mini-meltdown!! While we were there he did have a good time in a raft with Grady!!

 This morning before it got uber hot I put his pool on the front porch and let him play.

He had a great time!!

Although, I think he was more excited to have new toys to chew on than he was about playing in the water!

Baby signs class!

I recently met Julie with Baby Signs of Indiana at the March of Dimes walk. She was so nice and told me a little about signing with babies. I purchased a DVD from her and Maverick loves it! It teaches mealtime-related sign language and it is adorable! Julie teaches classes weekly in Carmel and also does workshops for parents and children. On Friday, along with a couple of mommies from my mommy group, Maverick and I attended a workshop. We had a blast. Maverick and his best friend Sam enjoyed trying to eat each other's toys while we learned more about learning to sign to our babies!!

 The boys did listen when Julie sang a song to them about a bunny!!!

 Oh, and I made some dinosaur brownies that were a little burnt cajun but still pretty yummy!!!

I learned a lot about the benefits for babies and parents when you teach your children to sign.

We plan to try to implement signs in our house asap!
